About Water Damage Compared
Who we are
Water Damage Compared is run by BluePeak Media. Our guides help homeowners get through a leak, burst pipe or flooded basement, from the first hour to the final bill. We started with Salt Lake City.
We are not a restoration company. We don't inspect, repair or dry out homes, and we don't employ technicians. Any provider you talk to is an independent business, and we don't guarantee its work, prices or availability.
How we're paid
Our guides are free to read. When a phone number appears on our site, calls to it go through a call-tracking partner to a participating provider. That partner pays BluePeak Media when a call connects. You never pay us anything. Providers set their own prices. Getting paid for calls doesn't change what our guides say. We tell you to check any company's license, insurance and contract terms, including the ones you reach through us.
Our call-tracking partner and the provider may record calls placed through our numbers, and may see your phone number and the time and length of the call. They use this for quality checks and billing. See our privacy policy.
How we write and check our guides
- We lean on official sources wherever we can, such as city utilities, state agencies and the National Weather Service, plus established local news outlets. We link to them in each guide.
- We use AI tools to help research, draft and edit our guides. Each guide is checked against its sources and then gets a second accuracy and language review by a separate AI reviewer. The site's operator approves every page before it goes live.
- Every guide shows the date it was last reviewed, and each one has an update log.
- We don't publish reviews, testimonials or "top company" rankings.
Our guides are general information, not legal, insurance or safety advice. For your specific situation, talk to your insurer, a licensed professional or a Utah attorney.

Gunhee Lee runs BluePeak Media and oversees and publishes our guides. He focuses on the questions homeowners face when they're rushed: who to call, what to sign, and what to do when the bill doesn't add up. He isn't a contractor, lawyer or insurance professional.
